Rendezvous 2016

Labor Day weekend was the Fort Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous, and you bet we were there!
I think this is our 4th year going...not too shabby.
My girls look forward to it every year and love dressing the part.  And this year, my mom made each of their dresses!  I know...pretty awesome!

And also this year, my parents dressed up...and I must say, they did a bang up job at it!  They looked pretty legit...my dad even grew his beard for it (I think the last time he had a beard my mom was pregnant with me, so yeah, it's been a while).
My dad entered many of the shooting competitions and my mom participated in the women's frying pan throw.

The girls with their cousin Jett.

A storm would blow in and sprinkle a bit, and then the sun would pop out again.  And the wind never stops there!!  Wyoming is definitely for the tough!

Haley and Morgan both stayed overnight (Morgan stayed two more nights actually).  My parents got a room in the nearby town so Haley stayed with them and Morgan stayed with our friends as she's done for several years now.  Their daughter and Morgan are pretty tight, and it seems this weekend has become tradition now.  And we don't mess with traditions!
As for Ryan and I, we stayed for just the day and drove home with the little ones.  Maybe one year we'll have to dress up too...maybe.

Labor Day Weekend

We kicked off Labor Day weekend with the Ft. Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous on Saturday.  We've been going for a few years now, so it has become a bit of a tradition for the girls to get dressed up in pre 1840 garb and really embrace the whole experience!  And just like years before Morgan stayed for the weekend with our friends (their daughter and Morgan are little besties).  It's always so hard to say goodbye to her and I always worry if she's warm enough at night...but she always has a ball and loves every minute of it!
Aren't these girls darling?  And pretty authentic too, huh...(minus Rory's tennies of course).

Sunday we kept with our normal routine of Sundance Sundays.  This time we packed a picnic dinner and stayed through the evening to watch the outdoor band play.  And it just so happened that a few of our neighbors had the same idea so the girls played all evening, running around the field with their friends.  And I must say...the evenings are getting a bit chillier...Fall is definitely in the air!

Because we didn't get enough of Sundance on Sunday, we decided to go up again Monday to do some mountain biking.  Haley was excited to give it go, so my dad and I took her out on the trails.
Three generations!

Haley is riding my old mountain bike...she loves it!  And I'm happy to report that she had a good time riding as well.  She only had one big spill into the bushes...not too bad.  I'm hoping next weekend we can get both Haley and Morgan out there!

That evening for Labor Day we had a fabulous BBQ at my parents house.  And later that evening our little Morgan came home...happy and very, very dirty!

Then on Tuesday (I know it's not the weekend anymore...but whatever) the cross season started!  So that evening (even though he doesn't have a cross bike and had to ride his mountain bike) Ryan raced.  And it wouldn't have been complete without Taco Tuesday right after!

We're hanging on to summer for as long as possible!!
Happy Weekend ya'll!

Ft. Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous

This year Morgan was again invited to go with their her bestie's family to the Ft. Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous in Wyoming.  So we drove up all together on Saturday and spent the day and then left Morgan there to stay another couple of days.  This was my first time going.  Not sure if you remember, but this is how it played out last year.  So, I was glad everyone was in good health this year and we could all go together!

We borrowed the clothes from our friends (no, Ryan and I did not dress up...sorry folks).  The girls love dressing up for it.  I may even try to sew some outfits for them for next year!

Our friends tent.

My folks and my brothers (along with my nephew) came too.  The weather started out a little stormy looking and even rained briefly...but then it turned out to be a pretty nice day!

My brother, Jeffy, looking manly.

 Haley in Rendezvous heaven.

It's hard leaving Morgan for multiple days in a completely different state, but I do know that she is taken very good care of and she absolutely loves it!  The house is so different without her, and I'm always thinking, "Where's Morgan?!" whenever we go somewhere.  "Oh yeah, she's at Rendezvous."  I'm glad she gets these special memories...but, oh how we miss her when she's gone!
