So this morning the girls and I were out the door by 9:30 to get over to the Health Department so I could get my swine flu vaccine. However, when I got there I was horrified! The line to get into the building went out through the parking lot and wrapped around the entire block!! Nooooooo!!! My nightmare came true!!! Luckily, I have my parents here still, and my mom suggested that I bring the girls over to their house and then I get back to the line to wait it out...kids free. Yay for grandparents!! I ended up standing in line for about an hour and forty-five minutes...but I got it! I was just glad my bladder held out for that long!
So one less thing to stress over...I can relax a little.

3 Months
All right...I finally got around to take my three month pregnancy picture. Boy...I feel much bigger than this picture looks. I even wore maternity clothes the other day for the first time. I had to drag out the bin from our crawl space...unfortunately most of it is summer wear, but I did manage to find some jeans that fit pretty good...that's right, I actually wore something other than sweats! Anyway, it felt really awkward. People aren't sure if I'm pregnant or just getting fat.

South Fork
Last Saturday my dad suggested we all go hiking. And I'm so glad he did! It was beautiful! We all packed a lunch and hit the trail up South Fork.
I have to thank my dad for all these pictures...I swiped them off his camera since I didn't take any of my own.

We decided to use the opportunity of having a photographer (my dad) with us to get our family Christmas photo. This is one of our attempts. I'm not going to post the one we're going to use...yes, I think we may have a winner in the bunch. I had to weed out a lot of rejects though...the ones of Haley crying because she dropped her prized leaf, or the one of Morgan picking her nose. But I think we got a good one...so you'll just have to wait to see it! Yes, even the dogs are going to make the cut this year.
My mom is carrying Morgan is this picture, but it was a very short distance. I must say the girls have never hiked so well! We must have hiked over three miles and they were literally running on the way back. I asked them where they got all that energy, and they said they were riding their ponies back and that's why they were going so fast. I guess I'll tell them to ride their ponies on every hike!

Swine Flu
So this Swine Flu has got me a bit on the paranoid side...probably more so because I have children, who are known to bring every illness into our household. And also because of the fact that I'm in the high risk category being pregnant and all.
I've been keeping track of when Utah's shipments of the vaccine will arrive. My pediatrician's office may or may not carry it, so I opted to take the kids and Jeff to the Health Department yesterday to get them vaccinated. I expected a nightmare (it was the first day they started distributing it), crowds of people lining up around the building to get it. But surprisingly it was a very easy and pleasant experience! We had one paper to fill out, waited in a very short line (maybe 5 minutes of wait time) and then got the vaccine. It was the nasal spray kind, which kinda freaked out Haley a little, but really not too bad. I think the only bad part was they thought Jeff was the father of my children...I was like..."Uh...no...brother...he's my brother!". Talk about weird! Although, maybe I should take it as a complement! Perhaps they thought I looked like a young 20 something!! Oooh, I kinda like that!
Anyway, very easy experience. I have to take the girls in again for their second dose in a month. But I'm so relieved to have the process started. Now I just need to get myself protected. I can't have the nasal spray kind, it needs to be the shot form since I'm pregnant. So I'm still waiting for the shipment to arrive. When everyone is finished getting vaccinated, only then will I breath a sigh of relief!

First Appointment
I finally went to my first prenatal appointment yesterday. A little strange...it was very different from my old OB office. For starters they do an ultrasound on your first visit! Very new to me! My insurance better cover that! And they are very particular with how you pee in the cup on your first visit. A lot rules (you wouldn't think it would be so complicated)...hope I did it right! Also, they have a lab right there in the office (probably my favorite part), so now I was able to get my blood work done without having to drive to another place...love that! However, I wasn't too thrilled with the midwife. I had to see her rather than the doctor since I couldn't get an appointment right away with him...apparently he's a busy guy. So runner up was the midwife...and like I said...not a fan. When I had to get examined (annual pap), she kept saying, "Are you NERVOUS?? Oh, you must be nervous...look at you...you're so NERVOUS." Oh yeah, one of my favorite things to do is to lay here with my feet in the stirrups, freezing cold, with your icy hands and icy instruments touching me...no I'm not uncomfortable at all!! Just zip your lip lady, and get the job done!! No woman ever gets used it...I've been getting paps forever...I still hate them! Anyway, enough of that. I'm sure I've grossed out a large crowd. Ah, joys of being a woman.
So, in other news...I've gained 6 pounds. I thought it would have been much much more, but apparently not. The baby is measuring bigger, so they've moved my due date to April 16th.
Say hello to our newest member of the family!

Enjoy it while I can.
The bus stop that Haley goes to every morning has a lot of other kids, and there's probably around six Kindergarten kids among them. Two other mothers and myself are the only ones that walk our kids to the bus stop and pick them up everyday. So the other day one of the other moms, Autumn, asks me, "How long does one keep walking their kids to the bus stop?". And we both agreed that we will do it for as long as we can...at least while they're in Kindergarten. I realize that the bus stop is only a couple of houses down from mine, but I love walking with her every morning. I love being able to give her a huge hug and kiss goodbye in front of all the other kids, and say "I love you" and she says it back willingly. I love watching her get on the bus and find her seat. I love that we both wave and blow kisses to each other while the bus drives away. And I love how when the bus returns at the end of her school day she jumps off, runs to me and gives me a huge hug like we haven't seen each other weeks.
So, yes, I'm going to keep doing it...even in the rain...even in the snow...because I know the day will come that she won't be so willing to blow me kisses through the window anymore.

Halloween stores...Beware!
My girls (well, mostly Haley, Morgan just kinda follows along) are soooo excited about Halloween! I try to explain they still have a few weeks to go, but they don't seem to listen...or care. On Saturday the girls and I went to some craft stores, I had a bunch of coupons and thought I might find some good deals. Anyway, next to one craft store is a Halloween store and Haley begged to go inside. Whatever, might as well have a look. We wandered around a bit looking at the decorations and somehow we ended up in the trashy costume section. I couldn't believe some of these costumes!! I mean, yes, I know Halloween is the time that women have the excuse to dress like a tramp...the naughty nurse, devil, school girl...basically every outfit consisted of thigh high tights and a mini skirt, just different colors. Anyway, no big deal... but very quickly things started getting a little too racy. I looked over and saw Haley staring at one costume with her head tilted to the side with the expression of, "What the.....". I quickly made my way to the exit!
Note to self: Steer clear from Halloween stores when you're with children.
