Let me sum up.

"Let me explain...no, there's too much.  Let me sum up."  Can anyone guess what movie that's from?

Anyway, let me sum up what's been happening around here.  I've been a bit of a slacker with my posts lately!
We've had amazing weather lately!
The little ones having a picnic with their daddy.

We even grilled the other day...lovely.

And then yesterday this happened.
And it has continued today as well.  But I don't care, in fact I'm kinda glad since there is still a couple of weeks of the ski season I'd rather have the snow.  In fact Ryan and I are heading up to Sundance tonight for their employee only ski night!  Can't wait!

Earlier this week Piper lost her beloved Pooh Bear.  We knew for sure it was either at our house or the neighbor's (she was playing over there with it)...but we couldn't find it for the life of us!  We went to the neighbors on three different occasions to look for it, and of course I turned our house upside down.  Finally, yesterday I decided to look one last time in our neighbor's yard, in particular their sheds.  Luckily we have wonderful neighbors and they didn't roll their eyes at our consistent snooping around.  But our consistent snooping payed off!!  I finally found it in one of the sheds!!  After three days of Pooh Bear missing, Piper was very happy to see him again!
It's amazing how even adults get so attached to their kids stuffed animals...or is that just me?

Also this last weekend we had a Frozen movie night.

And my kids have watched it approximately 257 times since then.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!
We had green donuts for breakfast...it was a last minute, whoops I forgot it was St. Patrick's day, what am I going to give my kids this morning, kinda breakfast.  Thanks to Ryan for making a fast dash to the market this morning.
Tonight I have to work, but I think I can still have something green ready for them to eat.
Traditionally, I usually serve an Irish stew with a green cake for dessert.  However, I only have a few hours until I leave for work so chili with green cornbread will have to do.  Next year, I'll plan better!

In other news, this happened last week.

It was quite an impressive run he had.

Have a great Monday ya'll.

Ever wonder...

...what ski instructor's have in their pockets?
I know you're dying to know, so I'll go ahead and tell you.
I cleaned my jacket out the other day and this is what I found...

A bag of goldfish. (Incentives/snacks for the kids)
A bunch of Kleenex. (I've had to wipe more kids' noses than my own.)
Two old ski lift passes.
6 zip ties.
Gum.
A handful of foamy animal stickers.
My progression check off sheet.
An old class list.
Sunscreen.
Safety and Responsibility Cards.
My employee ID.
4 Edgie Wedgies.
1 tootsie roll. (I ate this one after a snapped the photo.)
1 starburst.
Chapstick.
5 old candy wrappers. (Kids ate these pieces...honest.)
1 Beanie (not pictured).

There, don't you feel better now that you know?

Got my pin!

I went to my ski assessment for Level 1 last week, and I'm happy to report that I passed with pretty good marks and came home with my pin!  Yep, I'm a professional now.  Yay me!

We're winding down our season...only a month left.  At least I hope we make it to the end of the season.  With temps in the 60's these past few days the snow is melting fast!

Yesterday was beautiful!  The girls played outside for hours, it was wonderful!

Barefoot in March...gotta love it!

Happy Monday!

Ski Clinic

Last Saturday my brother, Jeff, and I went to an all day ski clinic that our supervisors held for any instructors that wanted to attend...a great opportunity to improve my skills...which I might add, I need!  We were lucky because our group ended up being nice and small.  There was a photographer that tagged along snapping tons of photos and we were also filmed so that we could actually see ourselves in action and pinpoint changes we needed to make to our skiing.  I try not to be hard on myself, this is just my first season.  But it's hard when I can't seem to break some of my bad habits and it can get quite frustrating for me.  I'll keep working on it!

But the days that I get to step away from the norm (doing a backwards wedge with a five year old on the tow rope all day) and actually SKI is so fun!!

With a few of my colleagues on the summit of back mountain.

Me skiing down Bishop's Bowl.
Most likely what I'm thinking..."Don't fall.  Don't fall.  Don't fall."

Jeff's turn.
Jeff is quite good I might add...one of the best on the mountain!
Maybe some day I'll be able to ski like him.

So tomorrow I'm going to Deer Valley in Park City to test for my Level 1 for PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America).  I'm a little bit nervous about it, even though everyone assures me I'll do fine.
Wish me luck!
