Summer starts now...

...if only the weather would cooperate!
It seems that this year winter will not end!  The last week of school brought temperatures in the 40's/50's and so much rain!  Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the water, but I think we're good now.  Please give me sunshine!  I'm ready to sweat!

I've completed my first full year teaching in Provo and I have loved every bit of it!  It feels so good to be back at work.  I love that I work at the same school my kids go to!  I see them more throughout the day at work than I would if I was a stay at home mom, which makes going back to work full time so much easier!

We've been getting out for family mountain biking at least once a week for the past month and we're hoping to continue this tradition throughout the summer.  It has been so fun to see their confidence grow every ride they do, especially Rory.  We've found some pretty fun trails that are perfect for kids!

I also plan to ride more this summer as well!

So far I have climbed Squaw twice this year and my goal is to climb it more consistently this summer (every week perhaps?).  It hurts so bad, but it sure is a quick way to get into shape!

Summer, here we come!

Summer 2018

Today is January 2nd, 2019!
I thought what better way to kick off the New Year than to catch up on my blogging...and KEEP UP WITH IT!
So, I thought I would pick some highlights from the summer to start off.

Haley and Morgan went to YW Girls Camp.  This year they went to Moab and spent some time at Arches National Park.

 Ryan turned 41!

Piper took gymnastics for the summer.

 Rory took ballet.

 Ryan did a few races.

Piper and Morgan went to Activity Girls Day Camp.

We had a garden for the first time in several years.

We tried to get up to Sundance often for our Sundance Sundays!

I climbed Squaw Peak a few times...very ouch!

 And did several bridge jumps!

Rory could finally reach the pedals on the tandem and went for a few rides!

Our sweet Misty cat passed away...a very sad day.
We all miss her so much.

We buried her under our pear tree.

More Sundance Sundays.

 Hike to Stewart Falls.

Found a fun place to swim at Salem Pond.

Went to Colorado for our Summer trip.

 First stop was Steamboat Springs.
We took the gondola to the top of the resort and found the perfect hike.

We explored the town.

After Steamboat we drove to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Over 12,000 feet elevation!
Quite a spectacular view, windy and cold!

Found some trails off the beaten path.
Beaver Meadows

 Bear Lake

The girls saying the oath for their Jr. Ranger pin.

Camping outside Rocky Mountain National Park.

 Explored a bit of Boulder.

 Stopped in Glenwood Springs.

 Hiked to Doc Holliday's grave.

 Morgan turned 12!
And we welcomed her new pet Ball Python into the family.

 Haley turned 14!

To finish up our summer we watched the final stage for the Tour of Utah in Park City.
Said hello to our pal and Utah's own, TJ Einshart.

Also got a picture with Tour winner, Sepp Kuss!

And that completes the highlights of our summer, 2018!
